What Is The Best 3000 Watt Portable Generator

What Is The Best 3000 Watt Portable Generator?

There work a whole lot of 3000 W generators out there, compared to some of the other models I have written articles about but there still was a decent amount and enough to make atop five list.

A lot of the models I chose were inverter type generators but really were the best models out there with the feedback and functionality to back them up. So, here's what I believe are some of the best 3000 W (portable) generators out there.

The Briggs & Stratton 30545 P3000 PowerSmart

The Briggs & Stratton 30545 P3000 PowerSmart 3000-Watt Inverter Generator comes in 2200, 3000, and 6500-watt variations.

This particular model is 3000 watts which is a good middle ground in terms of power and cost. You'll get 3000 starting watts and 2600 running watts making it an ideal portable generator for camping. If you're worried about noise, just flip a switch, and with its quiet power technology, engine speed will be reduced thereby making it quieter.

How quiet? It would be as loud as a normal conversation at 58 dbA.

Briggs & Stratton P3000

Running the Briggs & Straton 30545 P3000 at only 25% load will make it last for 10 hours. It is also equipped with an LCD display that shows how much power you're currently using, how long it has been running, as well as maintenance reminders. It's not that light since it weighs 85 lbs but because of the handle and convenient luggage-style handle and solid wheels, it's very easy to transport and maneuver. Another really good feature is its parallel capabilities. Just by purchasing the parallel connector, you'd be able to combine two of these together to generate more power.

This inverter generator cannot be purchased in California so those residing there would have to go with another brand or model. For everyone else, it would come with a 2-year warranty for residential use and 1-year warranty for commercial use.

The Honda EU3000iS

The Honda EU3000iS is a gas-powered portable inverter that provides 2800 running watts and 3000 starting watts. It's a generator that is meant to last long and be fuel efficient at the same time.

It comes with a Honda overhead valve engine that produces very clean and consistent power good enough for your computers and sensitive equipment.

What's amazing about this product is that it can run for up to 20 hours with just a single tank of gas or 3.4 gallons of fuel.

It's also super quiet with noise levels being able to go down to only 49 dbA with eco-throttle turned on. Just make sure to turn off eco-throttle if you need to power any big appliances that will require surge power.

Other useful features are its parallel capability - the ability to pair two similar models to produce more power, DC outlet - for charging automotive type batteries, and electric starting with recoil starting for backup. Unfortunately, though, the wheel kits will need to be purchased separately for better mobility.

The Honda EU3000iS is available for sale in California. The good thing about this unit's warranty is both commercial and residential usage coverage is the same at 3 years making it an ideal purchase for those who also plan to use the generator on job sites.

The Kipor IG3000

The Kipor IG3000 is non-CARB compliant so California residents would need to find an alternative. With 3000 starting watts and 2800 running watts, it's enough to power a 1.2hp air conditioner.

Since it utilizes inverter technology, you won't have to worry about running sensitive equipment since both frequency and voltage are regulated.

Because it is equipped with a large fuel tank, even at full load, with 3.4 gallons of fuel it can run for eight hours.

If you're planning to use this on campsites, you won't have to worry about noise since it's a quiet unit and a lot of consumers have actually pointed out this very feature. One drawback is it won't be easy for one person to lift the unit since it's a bit heavy, but two people could easily share the weight. If you're on a flat surface, pulling it won't be a problem at all.

Other highlights of the Kipor IG3000 are its electric key start and safety features which protect from overload, low oil, surges and engine choke.

Aside from being well designed, it has a couple of nice features that are worth noting.
